Compounded animal feeds

Feeds formulated to provide for a balanced nutrition as required by the animals using various raw materials like cereals, brans, oil cakes, molasses, supplements are called compounded animal feeds

Not providing proper nutrition to animals causes both financial losses and ill health of the animal.
Deficient nutrition may cause:-

  • ● Delayed and irregular oestrus cycles. This causes financial losses due the feeding cost in extended dry periods/non productive period of the animals
  • ● Drop in condition of the animals leading to loss in its value.
  • ● Inferior performance of the animals
  • ● Loss due to lesser production and poor quality of milk
  • ● Increased costs of treatment
  • ● Inadequate weight gain in sheep and goats
